nooooooooooooooooo!!

The concept isn't really new, but it's still very entertaining and I think you handled it right with this one. But... since the game is very small and relatively easy, I wouldn't consider this as much of a game as an excellent, but although melancholic piece of literature (told in a quite original way) with an almost disturbingly sad ending. You kinda get the impression that the main character is only some pathetic loner at first, then as the story progresses you gradually begin to feel compassion for the little guy. For me, during the last level my mind kind of alternated between "how the FUCK am I going to get over this gap?!" and "wait nooo, I don't want to leave you yet, I'll play a few more levels...". And then, after the level it all makes sense, but now I feel terrible! Damn you :(

great

I kinda get the same kick from this game that I had when I played the SNES and N64 mario games. Brilliant. Nothing more to add than that.

Only thing that disturbed the gaming experience was some short bits of loud white noise which appeared along with random sound effects. You probably know that already, if you don't, I'm running the game on Safari 3.1.2

Great

That was fun, I'm very impressed by the characters and villains- very very well made. Much better than most games I've seen on the internet. The difficulty levels are on the spot, easy is challenging, but most people will probably get through it on their first try, normal and hard requires more strategy, and though I haven't played the Epic difficulty I guess the player will need a thorough walkthrough or something, which is just how a very hard/epic/impossible setting should be.

My only problem with personally it is that it's pretty slow, and with the continuous stream of enemies, the gameplay becomes repetitive and boring after a while.

anyway cool

eh, not so fond of the idea

note that when I use the word "you" in this review, that's directed at any newgrounds user, not the flash author.

I don't like the idea of this "generator" at all. It encourages lazyness, abusive reviews and stat whoring. What's the point of reviewing a flash if you have to copy and paste a preset review because you're too lazy to write one yourself? It's nothing more than a +1 review count, and very likely a +1 review ban count as well.

As I pressed the "bad" button, all I got was grammatically incorrect, short text pieces of 3 or less lines. Usually abusive ones too. Obviously absolutely none of the reviews could offer a flash author any help at all.

Graphically not impressive at all either. Some black and white gradients serving as frames, what looks like quickly done Times New Roman text and a completely unrelated drawn woman. No idea what she did there, although it's probably what served as the easter egg. :/

This flash is really not anything special at all, content wise and graphic wise. I question the purpose of it though. If you can't properly review a flash, it's better to just stay off reviewing.

mehhh

Well, sure it's a bit of fun... like, once (I know I'm not the target audience, but really). Surely the question is more what not to improve rather than what to improve, but anyway, I'll tell you what I think needs some purely aestethical improvements for starters:

- Animate Freddy, it looks hella cheap when he's just a symbol moving up and down. The best thing would probably be to make him swim (look up "Animation Challenge Wk4-6" here on Newgrounds if you need help with that) as the player presses up and down- eventually just make a short FbF-loop of him waving his arms like an idiot or something, so at least he isn't completely static. Same with the fishes and flies.
- Some kind of background would make it look much better- just draw some bog or whatever in the background. Or, since it is a game for kids and stuff, some unicorns and royal rainbows. Anything else than that ugly cyan colour.
- Freddy should make a sound when hit by a fish, branch, fly or heart. Like, "yum" for the flies and "ouch" for the fishes, that kinda stuff. Record some yourself, or look up some royalty-free samples, I don't care :)

For the gameplay: The controls are decent, I really think Freddy should be a little faster though. Not much more to say about the gameplay than that, it is an incredibly simplistic game after all.

Ok that's it

PS: Amazing background tune!!

And here's a review lol

That "homer watching the cursor" thing was pretty cool- I had a little bit of fun making awesome faces by moving my cursor around. Only a little though. I guess I'm weird.

Well for the game anyway. Decent drawings, characters were very close to the real ones. I think it could do better than those motion tween-esque ways of moving- they just go back and forth in straight lines. Gameplay is also decent- it's fun to play, once, just to have tried it. There's not much of a replay value, and it's pretty damn easy. It works perfectly fine, exactly as it should, I couldn't find a single glitch. Audio is good, since it is related to the Simpsons and stuff after all. Sound fx fits.

My only suggestion is that you make some harder levels, so it becomes more fun. It's a cool game nevertheless

ok 10 and 5 anyway

Lool, that review cracked me up!

This is by far the best review :D

Thanks for playing, add me to favs

Yay

Quite a lovely game, it has a genius new concept and some simple graphics which do very well for this kind of game.

I loved it, even though it was a piece of shift! :D

Wrong audio credits.

newgrounds.com/audio/listen/69209
That is the link to the audio you used in your flash. Though I'd love if you used Santa's Child Slave Factory instead. :D Either change the credits or the song in the actual flash.

Good game by the way, nice graphics. The underground looks a bit too much like it's taken out of Google Earth or something though.

Merry Christmas :D

Review for 'em all

Gotta review 'em all, since it's a collection of games, rite

Graveyard shift: Very simple game, some interesting foes, though it gets really repetitive after a while. WASD keys are a little glitchy, jumping doesn't always work. Cool little thing, fun to play once or twice though sorta boring.

Candle light: Rather boring concept really. The skulls in the background and fx made it creepy as hell though- nice mood, but the concept of the game itself isn't too interesting.

Resurrection: Again, VERY monotone gameplay, but it has a bit of replay value. Great, shiny graphics. the skull is a bit TOO sensitive though- you lose a life just by being near a ghostie. After a while them ghosts go fast as hell, which makes it really hard too, but it's fun

Dark Depths: Very hard to keep up with the grey area, I think it's hard enough itself to get up, if it wasn't for the zombies- you sort of combined two different kind of games- which didn't really work perfectly well, but it's a nice little piece of game thoe

Tower Climb: Cool game- very nice concept and all, but maybe the candies should add a little to the "life meter" since if you've wasted one flight, you can't get it back at all. Not too important, it's a cool thing nevertheless

Blood type: Another typing game huh- well, ironically, there's a TYPE-o in it (you have on mintue? Wtf?) Cool graphics, watch out though, the blood makes it harder to see what letter it is. Very stressing with those shaking letters and numbers. No big flaws at all

It's raining candy: Very cute little game, after a while he like, throws out candy like crazy. Nothing bad about it, not the most interesting concept however. That cheering kiddy fx got annoying after a while.

Pumpkin Crush: While it's obvious that it's the tank that moves, some stripes in the middle of the road would make sure for the player that the tank is moving along the road, and that it's not the pumpkins and rocks that are flying against the tank. Interesting, though not very original concept, a bit shaggy graphics, but overall a pretty good minigame.

Ghoul Hunter: Defend your castle type game huh. Well I'd like there to be some more interesting foes than whatever birds and witches. If there are, I'd really like them to be earlier in the game. Pretty boring, stripped down game really.

Get off my Lawn: Def. and totle the most enjoyable game there. Pretty well varied characters, good graphics and some powerups and stuff. Would like there to be a more extended "shop" there between the levels though. Great little minigame

Nice little compilation of games, I had fun most of the time playing it. Good work to you all

Whoa what?

how freakin COOL, someone used my song in a daily feature. I can't really say I understood everything with the game, but it has great graphics, an interesting gameplay and background story- good game

Flyborg responds:

hey, it fits. kind of creepy / atmospheric, and it doesn't get annoying after looping a bazillion times.

welcome to bluegrounds :))
