And I shit you not.

You would have won.

Rig responds:

No wai! Really? D:

Darn.

Maybe they'll send me a prize anyway.

Those creepy ghosty voice are awesome. But it didn't seem to fit perfectly, mostly because of the sharp change in style from orchestrals and voices and all to grungy stuffs- if you'd integrated them a bit better, or just started it from 'bout 0:27, it might've made a better impression

blah

Sounds great anyway, I don't understand why the heck I'm nitpickin' it so much

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

I know man, its ok. This was a quick throw together for the season, I've been quite "blocked" as of lately, so it wasn't overly complex either. Thanks for checkin it out, though ...Look forward to hearin from you with new stuff (eventuafuckingly). haha.

\m/ I may actually attempt to finish something with this intro, one day too.

So I don't think I really did enjoy the smeagolish vox, really, haven't made up a decision on that yet. Maybe if ya 'screamed' em louder, it wouldn't sound quite that much like you simply had a massive cold- but it sure gives an interesting character to the track.

Damn great music stuff btw- diverse and very original- but wait, you didn't do that lol >:(

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

haha, no I didn't. I don't much care for writing lyrics and crap to my own work. I feel, just by creating it...I've already listened to it, WAY too many times. And really am quite sick of it. haha. Anyways, its cool to have people who don't listen to metal as often, critique...because I never thought of the "viking" style vocals to be "smeagolish". That is fucking funny, cause you are right. I'm actually not great at them, but practiced a lot just for this tune. And now, I'll only be able to laught when I try to attempt them in something else. haha. ya fucking bastard.

Thanks for the review SBB.\m/

lolx

Guess what, I heard a lot of 090_VinylRhodes_mLp_eLAB.rx2 and 120_CompChords_mLp_eLAB.rx2 in that, but alright then- though I'd enjoy it more if I didn't just think "ogm l00pz lol >:(" while listening to it

The lyrics were damn cool, nothing too intense, but work great for "some guy's theme song" kind of stuff.

Also the guy below me is nuts

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Yes you did hear that. But thats ok. It still was effective, and nowhere near as generickly ugly and recognizable sounding as FL stock stuff. I love fucking around like this.
Thanks for checking it out, man.
I believe, everyone is nuts, if you could only see it from my sane point of view. wee!

Thanks again, man.

niec

That's a cool reece, pretty original sound. Those strings don't really sound good, a bit too filtered away from me. All the synths generally sound good and fit into the track, which is a good change from those presets I remember you using before. Hope you get that string vst working tho cause I honestly don't think they sound good right now.

Good stuff however

WritersBlock responds:

Hey,
Yeah, I think the strings are working alright now. And, yeah, I've picked up a few tips about reeces and it's good to know you approve of my synths =P

Thanks for the review.

Wonderful

Probably the best song on Newgrounds in my opinion- since I obviously love calm, surrounding ambient music such as this more than nothing else. Wonderful mix of atmospheres and sound effects with ethereal pads and sounds subtly going in the background. Intensely relaxing stuff.

Gillenium responds:

Best song on Newgrounds? Damn, it seems I have been given some kind of SBB award.. I'm going to cherish it in case someone else wins next year, haha. Yeah, I had no idea this song was going to be so... ambient. Things just worked out that way. 'Tis the nature of collaborations, I suppose. Thanks for the review, as always.

yeah

There's a lot of unstructuredness in the piece, you might want to use some more melodical progressions on the strings, and use the fx more sparely, also add more than the one note there is on the high pitched synth. At least you have a steady drum beat to work on. I'd easily see something cool to evolve from this.

Jurian responds:

Thanks for the tips....this isn't really my own style so please listen to some of my other stuff.

a hoorayer

Very epic-euphoric introduction, I think I actually used that exact chord progression in an 8 minutes long song I made a good while ago. Fits really well with the pseudo-acid driving bass you use, and the similar higher synth. Really awesome synth sounds, you obviously made your time picking the right ones. Builds up a lot and makes an impression "here it comes, the awesomest most kickass trance epic ever"- well it went up a bit too gradually for me- instead of going from low->middle->high busyness I'd like it to go more from low->HOLY SHIT. THAT IS POWERFUL. kind of kickoff from the build. It never really boosted up here. But it had some great parts of asskicking.

I don't really like that highpitched synth in the break from everything btw

Oh here it comes a more energetic part than all the others. Stuff goes on nicely, it feels good to listen to even though it kinda hypes me up. And that's goddamn well done. Hey I'd like to see more of the gated synth in the end through the whole track. That'd rock a whole lot

This is one damn awesome song by the way

silkng responds:

Nice review m8, thanks. Wish I was as godo with the words as you but I'm tryin'

This was mad eusing quite limited software, one of the old ejays, you know, the ones that barely let you change samples at all. So it took ages to find the right mix.

Nowadays I have more advanced software so gonna be more in control if my intros and stuff. Saying that, I love this song and wouldn't change it for the world.. I guess if you hear it enough it becomes perfetion, or I'm biased ;D

diggin'

The synth in the start, the really dancy and ethereal note progression caught my eye... I mean, ear, in the start of it. Sadly it doesn't really use that in the latter parts. So it seems just a bit too unstructured. Lovely trancy parts later on though, which makes up for the somewhat nervous start. It fades out and in with the volume a lot, which I haven't made a decision if it's good or not. Cool drummage through the thing, and good choice of synth.

yummy

silkng responds:

Yeah this is one of those tracks that i'll just have to come back to and remix, I think it's worth it (if you compared original infinitum to my remixed vers you'd see how valuable people's comments are, I can improve tunes greatly usually). I'm considering playing with the stereo a bit and adding a bit more pAZaH!

Very very very awesome

A lot of detailed, advanced stuff going on here. Great drum lines, them hats really do their job. A bit too much repetitiveness with certain synths, cause you repeat melodies from earlier parts when that isn't really called for at all. Except for that this tune is goddamn flawless. Especially loved the beginning and the ethnic percussion stuff there. Vewy vewy well done. Doesn't really move on until it comes to the faster "rave"-ish part. But it does when it's in that part, and stuff is lovable the whole way through.

You get my yay

silkng responds:

Yay at getting your yay!
