lol wtf dude :o

You sure this isn't the same as After The Nova? I could hardly spot any differences- and the waveform isn't really different either!

oh-ok, there is a "oh" sound going now. and a sound from the original which is a bit more outdone. Some quicksilver. Some few changes in placement.

And that's pretty much all I saw. It all appeared later in the song, but seriously dude, there wasn't a lot of changes or extensions in it. The original is hell of an ambient experience, and this is just like adding some more topping to a cake that is perfect in form already. It doesn't change it much.

And I believe I reviewed the original so I could simply copy and paste the review from it into here, but I'm not really a fan of double-information.

You made it better. A little bit.

I like.

Karco responds:

Actually, I more than doubled the length... but, definitely true - in new elements, I didn't do so well here. =\ I thought it might have dragged on.

It's an extended version, not a remake. I didn't change any of the synths, etc. so up to the ending of the first version it was, indeed, identical. =\

Most of the reason I uploaded it was because it's been so long and I felt like it... ahh well.

Not much else to add... thanks for the review. And... apparently, you still like it, so glad you do. :)

hello

:) you my good sir know how to make music- the only thing I was a bit dissapointed about was the percussion, which was like thump phaa all the time, though the shaking things sound great, but it doesn't really sound like percussion, eh?

The lead sounds good, but it's not very special. I've seen sharper and better leads, but I like this. The pad-ish thing that follows the lead in a later part of the song really DOES make it special though.

and the end was just funny, (slowing down and stopping that way) I literally laffed of it.

K. Neat instrumental here, but there's a lot more I could see in this.

Karco responds:

Well, it sounded pretty much like percussion to me - industrial percussion, though. It sounded pretty good to me... though it definitely is very different from what I normally use. :P

Actually, there's no pad-ish thing that follows the lead. It's all one thing. It's just that in the beginning I have it play a short note and let it reeverb. Then I held the notes later on, turning it into a sort of pad. Aah, I love Vanguard. =D

Actually, the ending was that way because I couldn't think of anything better. I don't see the humor in it but if you liked it that way, ok - I'm not complaining. :P Glad you do, thanks for reviewing. :)

y hellu thar

starts out kinda weird, it's a very atmospheric pad though it doesn't give much atmosphere to the track at all.

I dunno, the melody is strange, not very melodic, but after a while it sounds great when it's combined with the percussion and the droplet like pad.

Builds up very slowly, there aren't many different synths going on at the same time, and these you had sound great together.

But I think it missed something in the start, which could've been made different from the other parts of the song

It has great flow, and it's slow enough for being something to fall in sleep with. Great ambients again SR

SineRider responds:

It was a bit more chord based song, as opposed to a complex melody, ya know.

I really liked how I approached the percussion in this song. Although I was not going to include any when I first worked on this a couple months ago.

Thanks for the criticism, I'm happy to get any. As it can only make me a better artist.

sounds pink floydish

the start sounds really progressive and like a build-up, while the fx around the steadily ongoing bass make the atmosphere of the track.

The african cake sounds could have been more separated from the rest of the song, actually if you'd not have claps and kicks in the same part as the cakes it'd sound longer, though I guess it sounds great as is.

this loops perfectly, and therefore it'd be just perfect for a game too. A forest maze-like one maybe? Of course it would be better as a full song if it actually got a climax somewhere and released instead of just lying there with the deep notes. I suppose this is a loop tho

Good work on this song, and gongrats on weekly first place!

Arnas responds:

Cheers mate! Though I don't really understand what the cakes are :/

yay

The start was just some crazy disortion thing which killed my ears totally, but the latter part sounds cool really, though it is DAMN loud and ongoing! You could try relaxing and sequencing the synths though, since it sounds more like a note on a note.

Now it gets a melody, which sounds crazy, though cool.
DAMN LOUD but it may get somewhere.

X-ZON responds:

it is a tad loud!

so il work on softing my song!

hahahaha

this is genius

Father-of-Death responds:

hahahah wtf!!!!!!!

Great!

very nice square wave in this, loved how it just played a note progression instead of a melody since a melody would just be messed up. The notes the square wave play is much better as a base synth for the track.

Well this is simply a happy tune, so it isn't very deep or so, but it does very good for a happy ending in a game though.

I liked the dribling effect in the blippy synth thing. Though you could always have boosted that effect a little and set the synth about an octave lower since it's really shimmering.

Great vox in the end, also the sweep was awesome. The melody and ending variation of the original melody did very good too.

Music-story responds:

Hope you heard the bass at the end of the song. Did you listen with headphones? Okay thanks for review and vote. Vox? I didn't use vox but than I guess that synth at the end sounds a bit vox like. Bye for now. Go happy tunes.

Sounds my works

this is very alike my songs- a lot of atmosphere, simple yet powerful backgrounds pads, and slow, calm melodies. Beautiful melodies and instruments with lots of atmosphere and diversity in them. A fairly random structure, though effective, small and repeatative melodies with synths that overwrite the randomness of them makes the general sound of it very exciting and special. I did like this track, maybe because of the sound of it. Check out mine if you want, some of them sound a lot like this. Great work, good luck!

onestaridiot responds:

thank you for your comment =) , i'll check your music out now

haha title

This track is sure glitchy- especially in the beginning it sounded like a song and then a loop from another song thrown into that, but after this sure strange part it is a lot better. Though I still can't seem to be able to follow this weirdo track.
Loved the crazy chord synths you used to make this track though.

dunno

LJCoffee responds:

Thanks SBB - I guess it is sort of a wierdo track isn't it? I get bored and I start playing with things - I start wiring up little bits and pieces inside of Reaktor and this is the sort of thing that falls out the other end.
Those "crazy chord synths" are getting dumped out of vocoders that are modulating a straight synths with a couple of drum sequencers.

I dunno either :D

whoa...

that start killed my speakers. And there's some crazy disortion all over this track too. But I liked the ambient sweeps and pads that come in some times at the track, which made a contrast from the other parts with the hard and extreme drums.
this sounds cool, keep it up! But I would really like to see a little less od that disortion.

Arnas responds:

Thanks. It's not distortion it's just too many sounds going around at once

welcome to bluegrounds :))
