ah trance-ish fun tunes for cities

I'm not entirely sure this is ambientz- i believe trance would go better for this track (happyminimalistic synthpop with tastes of oriental-inspired new age-electronica if you want)

loved the little bass-ish lead, but when there are pads going on, it's disorting a little, so master it for further versions plz k?

except for that there's not a lot of things to say about production or result, it's a good song and that's it

(IT'S FUCKEN FIVE VOTED)

Syntrus responds:

Yes i'm fuckin happy

FAST FAAAAASTER FAST FAST really fast :P

oh my god that is extremely fast and frantic.

but I like it as it went on. Except for the pretty weak beginning and repetetive beat going on ALL the time with random hats as the only exception, I like it quite a lot. The leads sound pretty damn great.

not your style? If this is how your tracks of this style comes out I think you should totally continue making these tracks. GREAT WORK!

but cut down on that floppy bass please

preffertobedead responds:

ha!..i <3 u so much SBB =D...YES..it's repetitive...i don't think i release tracks like this very often...cuz...it's weird to me to get tunes like this in my head..O.o...dunno...maybe i was just in a madness mood...=P..

the Floppy Bass...i dunno why i used it in my last submissions =D...i just dunno why i liked it...but now that u say it i don't think i'l use it...i really follow the advices ppl tell to meeeh...=D...

thanks for stoping by and leaving a review...i'l assure of make the same for u...=D

;)

oh my...

a bossy video game track over 5:30... good luck on that....

starts out with wah-y, cheap thumb bass synths- I don't know, but it does fit pretty well with the VG-ish electric bass and the glitchy maniac beat. The scream that you put in sounds good, but it's peaking way too much. Very original done with crushing it later on the song.

The short lead part with a huge unison on the lead is good, you should've lenghtened these notes to fit out the whole track and give them more attention (That's just because it sounds so good)

the acid synth is coming back... sounds weird with the glock and the lead. The beat fits perfectly in there, very maniac as usual but it really does well.

Ouch... huge orchestra hit notes at a classy placement- they do peak a little, and they aren't that good either.

I think you did a lot of fx later on the song, which is making the song sound messy and off. Especially when you slowed the whole thing down, it sounds really crappy.

OH MY GOD that was extremely hurting my fingers writing as I heard the song. but there you go, what I thought about the song as it went on.

It's a like, keep it up!

EchozAurora responds:

you might need new speakers....
there is no peaking at all in the alarm.. nor the orchestra hits
But yes, good fun.
I think my favorite part is the synth that pans back and forth, reminds me of mega man. And I am a glitch whore, but I do agree that it gets a bit off-beat near the end and kind of throws a couple things off.
...Sadly, this song might not get the attention it deserves... it appears the 0-bombers are having a circle-jerk listening to old PGx9 tracks again.
But oh well, doesn't matter anyway, it'll bounce back.
Thanks for the review, I'll hit ya back sometime.

oh my god

that's a very lot of disortion and clipping you got there where you placed the humongous kick sounds... I'm sure you could've mastered it a ton more than that.

very sharp sounds all around, the piano has shimmering tones and really much velocity on the notes, actually it's clipping there too.

I didn't like this song, it's just hurting your ears instead of giving them something good, sorry. Master it a bit and cut down on the velocity and enormous bass, and I believe this could be a decent tune

Setu-Firestorm responds:

Strange. You gave it all high ratings considering you didn't like it.

Secondly, this wasn't supposed to be a pleasant piece. Furthermore, I've had no clipping issues with it; I always keep an ear out for that. THat may just be a "your speakers vs. mine" deal.

All in all, it serves its purpose as a disturbing and unsettling ambience, which was its purpose. I hope that by knowing my previous works you understand that I'm not saying this to mask an imperfection -- This piece was created as it was intended.

ok---

so since iTunes told me I have listened to the ep version of this song 43 times, I thought I should review it-

I can't entirely hear which speech/whatever you sampled here, but it does fit very well to the time signature and percussion/rhytm synths going on as well as it. The song also releases very well from the speech into the entirely musical part. Great work on the build of the song, masterful work!

The disortion of the drums, which you're saying you removed (I did hardly catch any difference... maybe because I'm not listening to both at the same time) does a great mix into the song really, very much like the sound you get when you add a RV-7 to something

Loved the percussion later in the sound, you're actually pretty damn great at effecting it.

the glitched pad sounds perfect, adds a lost feeling to the song also its annoyng remove it no dont

Great work on this one, make more tracks like this! Then I could put more songs in my itunez

SineRider responds:

I don't think I've even listened to this song 43 times.

The differences were I snipped off a part at then end I didn't like and did some remastering.

Thankies ^_^

This tune

It's weird

and extremely little musical or enjoyable, actually I believe this is a pure listen-to-find-out-wtf-it-is-ish track than an actual listening track, filled with random sounds and super-fast repeated noise in it. Kinda acid-ish really.

It's weird

LJCoffee responds:

Yeah, not everyones' cup of tea I suppose. It's just some glitchy psuedo-acidy IDM stuff. Thanks for listening-to-find-out-wtf-it-was though!

yup

this track is beautiful, loved the beginning the most. The strings have a great build up but the song sounds empty with just them in there. Could see the piano there much more, since it's so damn great.

A very good peaceful track, S-F, gotta have some applause for this track.

Setu-Firestorm responds:

There are reasons for its emptiness, and I'm not just saying that to compensate for anything.

This was for a film project, and as such film music tends to not be as full as your everyday orchestral music; film scores usually tend to be more simple, especially in a drama genre setting. The only time I've seen more full orchestrations in movies is usually in adventure films.

Thanks for the review.

okay I'lll let you know

haha yours are tons better than mine... I didn't make it good enough i think... but you definatively did, and yours I believe will do great in the contest, loved the note sequences in the song, loved the whole song really, great work!

Winterwind-NS responds:

thanks man
urs isnt nearly as bad as u make it sound lol

yes

Ok it's supposed to be repetetive, but not boring, but it is REALLY repetetive and therefore it is quite boring as nothign really happens in the track after the first half minute, it's just a repeat of the stuff earlier in the track.

I see you say you used an mp3 file to make that synth. It's working out well, but the times you play it on various notes the same time it sounds horrible and off-note.

The percussion works out well, few samples going on in them, which is good since it makes the attention go to other and more important parts of the song.

vox pad sounds great but it sounds like just single notes and not chords. Also it's quite loud compared to the rest of the layers.

Space rhodes made the track great in the latter half, a bit repetetive here too.

There's such a lot of things I could see added to this, instead of just the same all the time.

But it is a great basic song though!

loopsalottoo

Karco responds:

Hmm. I can see what you mean, maybe developing it faster would have been a good idea. If I feel like it I'll make a second version...

Well, I didn't use an MP3 file to make that pad... that MP3 file IS the pad! :D I thought it worked fine... it never played more than one note at once.

Yep, that synth (they're called rhodes?) that plays the melody is a nice one... it's actually from a VST that's supposed to be for pads! It's called Cygnus, and I think you'd love it... but Reason can't use VSTs, can it? >:(

Hopefully the next section, Stratosphere, will be much better diversity-wise... it's the fastest of all five parts. :D Nothing else to add... so thanks for the review, glad you like it.

i dont understand you

how do you make all these touching and beautiful songs

Father-of-Death responds:

thanks dawg!
