sup

Like, I never ever heard the original but this sounds so beast I'm gonna buy the game just to hear how the original sounds

that's right

DarKsidE555 responds:

LoL, thanks for checking man! But you don't have to buy the game...I just could send you the original tune! Stupid no0bzor! ;D

Anyways, thanks for da review SBB!

bah

Rain samples don't really give a mood to that at all... I mean, you got the realistic sound of it down, now you just gotta add some reverb to that. Also for the piano. Piano needs lots of reverb. Cause now it just sounds like a shitty FL Keys horrible ish out of tune ouch :'(

Needs a lot more work really. Start with the reverbin' and then go and fix the horrible piano sound and the completely out of key thang

Send me a midi of that and I could try to fix it up lal

New-Milkman responds:

Lal, a MIDI.... I sort of want to forget about this, but remember to use reverb more often. Mostly I was playing around with a piano VST that I got, and figured I might as well try something. I defiantly had to think if I wanted to upload this or not, and I obviously decided that I should, considering I haven't done much in a while.

Thanks for the review tho!

yay glitchy ambients

Sorta reminds me of kingbastard's stuff. Lots of glitchy fx's into a still relaxing, lovely sounding song. I just love it when people manage to do that. :D

And though it sounds so kingbastard esque, it is unique. 'tis good to see you can keep away from that expressionistic-like style (don't have a better word for that :P) you often do and make some more natural soundin' stuff blah bah

I enjoy it a lot and I have nothin' more to say than that

attemptedperfection responds:

Thanks for the review; I'm happy you enjoyed it! Hopefully the judges will too... ;)
I wasn't trying to steal kb's style or anything, but I do love his work, and am glad to have made something that reminds you of it.

plip plop

You like chopping things don't you- You also seem to enjoy using five hundreds of different FX's and sounds, or simply as many as you can possibly insert into a certain space of time.

Anyway, 'twas some really enjoyable stuff, only one thing I didn't like was the voice-ish thing in the start of it. But that's about nothing of the song, so it matters less than a drop of water in the Pacific ocean.

Nicccceeee

LJCoffee responds:

Yes, I very much like chopping and cutting things up. There really aren't as many effects and sounds as you might think but they're all layered together and in places there are many things happening so it gives the impression that there's a lot going on. I'm glad that you listened. Thank you!

haha

Thing is it's not a mrac, it's a mac ;)

But yeah the most noticeable thing about this song is definitively the bit-crushed percussion sweetness. One thing about them though, those panning cymbals in certain parts sound like sweet fucking Christ, way too ongoing and aggressive- also stress the hell out of me.

Some very nice melodies embedded into there between all the drummage, FX's and stabs, they're not much present at all.But well that's all-rite. It's DRUM n bass isn't it, not drum n melodies n bass, amirite. Brings me to another thing though, not much bass goin' there.

I'm nitpicking too much. It's another nice, fancy lil song. Good work!

attemptedperfection responds:

oops, my bad. :P
thanks much for the constructive feedback; I may take those cymbals down a notch before the deadline... I tried to put as much bass in as I could, but it's hard to get good bass out of buzz... maybe I'll try a few more things...
anyway, thanks again for the review!

Greatness

I see you submitted it to classical instead right- cause it really sounds a lot more like classical/ethnic thing than that... AMBIENT genre you speak of... I dunno

This is one of the few songs I've ever heard where there's a sitar without it sounding like a poorly edited saw wave. Good thing :D You sure as hell have a lot of other ethnic instruments, which sound great too. Especially liked that flute- now I'd personally dip it even deeper in a sea of reverb, but that's just what I like doin' with flutes.

It's pretty obvious where you started extending the song, but meh, that's okay. All them melodies sound so slickkkk together, they were made for each other :O nah really, take the oboe for example, that's lovely sound for ye

Great song. Nothin' more to comment about that, except maybe a 'bettr revw ma bak' because wtfs.

MaestroRage responds:

Ambient you say!? I SAY THIS IS NOT AMBIENT, THIS IS CLASSTAAAAAAAHH!

Yeah the first rendition was a failed ambient attempt. I should probably delete that some day...

I love doin that with flutes too, but if I made it too reverby it would kinda ruin the bass end, and then i'd be left with no bass, and then the drums would slam my eardrums into Valhalla.

Do you want my drums to be in Valhalla!? DO YOU!?

I love teh oboe :D

I'll review you back like RIGHT AWAYS! Thank you for the review SBB, i'm glad you liked it! I apologize for the late response!

bahhhhhhhhh

I WILL NEVER RETURN YOUR REVIEWS.

OH SHIT I DID

Anyways, great little ethnic/chillout piece. Lovely tabla, piano feels a bit drowned in the mix. Might want to add some thick, yet airy reverb to that, and a bit of loudness or something

Them toms felt pretty harsh at times, or timpani or what ya wanna call 'em. too in-your-face for this kind of song.

Loops perfectly, sounds great, is great.

Suspended-3rd-Chord responds:

haha :P

loadsa reverb on the piano, perhaps to big of a size, but yes, making it louder sounds good. I was kinda going for harsh toms, what I think it needs is some cymbals and maybe a triangle...thanks for the ideas bro! your review is appreciated :D

Bombin' shit

Great stuff. Lovely synths, great drums, voice samples fit perfectly, melodies of pure pleasure, clever structure and perfectly mixed.

Awesome song.

Good to see ya again too.

Envy responds:

Hah, good to hear from you on this. Wasn't sure if this was your "bag" baby. But glad it worked with you! Thanks.

I took such a long break to work on my mixing and such, so whatever sounds better is thanks to my time "away."

lovely

the litle saw synth sliding around is so great, made the track great too. Cool jazzbassrig and stuff too :)

Piano sounds very thin and flat, but that can be fixed with some reverb n stuff, can't it? :D

cool loop

loogiesquared responds:

yes, it can..
i'll review your submisiions one day...^^

:D :D

I love it when people make these kinds of tunes- not that the results sound good, but that it's so innovative and original sounding. Like here, a lot of fx that perfectly fits, and a guitar with a melody that DOES sound random, but it sounds like there's a link between it all upon listening to it a few time.

Nicely done. Ya get my thumbs up.

sculpted-cold responds:

Thanks a lot! I tried to incorporate a sense of nostaliga into this piece. In my opinion, it's my most beautiful piece recorded to date, but there are still others I need to work on... Glad to see there are a few open-minded people on this website.

Fun fact: The droning noise in the background is actually a manipulated guitar.

Thanks for the listen and review! I look forward to hearing your new song.
