yay

Never really heard any of your stuff

But damn, this is nice. Sounds almost liquid... The clarity is damn perfect, much better than any recorded stuff I've heard here yet. Guitar playing is amazing- wonderful notes / melodies / tabs / whatever you call it when playing guitar. Is the reverb actual acoustics or a computer plugin? If it's real, then what sort of room did you play it in?

Anyways- great work! All tens for ya

Metalcan responds:

Thanks for the nice review!

The reverb is a mix between Guitar Rig 2 VSTi and Boss GT-3 effects pedal.

Nice

Nice, your new name, that is.

This sounds japanese in the start- prolly because of the sitar-like thingywang synth. Dunno if I think that one fits there, doesn't fit the style of the rest of your song really good- and in the main parts of the song the melody is just annoying. Fancy lil filter thing you did with it, it sounded like a normal synth when it was fading in

The pad in back almost sounds like a bongo sweep lol. Nice, gives a very subtle feel and stuff. If you kept working on it with that pad as the main synth you'd almost have a me-style song, lol

Nice sweep, a bit cheesy but the note progression is great. Sounds like you EQ-ed it kinda weird though, or maybe you didn't but I think it'd be good if you filtered away some of the mid-freqs, cause it has that hollow feeling that goes into your nose and back in your throat- which is kind of annoying. Makes good harmony with everything, too bad it's only in there when the tune is at it's messiest

Ok, then there's this trance saw- now it sounds like it's on the playlist for the DJ in the rave party- nothing to comment or add, it sounds good- adds yet another mood to the song

Drums- holy hell they are a damn lot more diverse than in most trance-style songs. Which I like ^_______^. Kick sounds liquid.

The base is almost unhearable, I can only really hear it when I focus on it = MAKE IT LOUDER >:(

Wow you mixed a lot of moods here- almost everything had a different mood- ethnic, ambient soundscape, partyish, victory stuff- you mixed it pretty well. It clashes quite a bit in a while though because of the very different stuff you have in there.

Ok nice. Why not submit the other songs in the series before you continue it? So that people can get the whole thing- a lotta people haven't heard the others

10 for originality since I've never heard such a mix of different stuff before- 9 for clarity- you mastered it great, but the tune sounds messy at places- 9 for diversity since it has a lot more diversity than most tunes, but may get repetitive at times- 10 for effort, bah, wtf do I know about it >:(.
9 overall- it's great, but ain't perfect

HotDecemberSex responds:

Omg this is an author response!

=P

Thanks for the awesome review man, I really appreciate it.

The bass sounded fine to me dude, maybe you need to get better headphones or a sub-woofer so that the bass will stand out more.

Anyway I really appreciate this dude ^^

OCON liek OMG!1!11

what

the start sounds like white noise being poffed around

wait

the whole track sounds like that

wait here comes a something

weird lead with some kind of melody that never changes

noisepong stops, lead continues with a sligh change each time

fx and some pad

white noise

continues like that for a long time

shit bell

This song is a bit bare bones, and it's sorta- weird, almost inaudible too. You coulda addded lots more variation to it, or you could just redo it to make it sound more like an actual song than random stuff put in a song

eh maybe

Distortzion responds:

"Maybe"

just keep it like that.

wow

this almost sounds like my first song in the start- it has a really nice industrial feeling. Is these things really drums? Cause you mustve tweaked it an incredible lot.

Ok later on comes some stuff that sounds more like drummage. Very thin and high percussion, lower percussion would make some real nice bang in the song.

Okay the pad was a bit uncalled for, but whatever. I wouldn't have put it there.

Nice experimental track man! This could definatively evolve into something awesome if you kept working on it!

Suspended-3rd-Chord responds:

hey thanks for another review :D

thanks for the critiques. yes, their needs to have some lower percussion. I thought i covered the higher end percussion, thanskf for pointing htat out. you didnt like the pad :P ? well i know where you are coming from, the song was lacking some melodical bits so i threw it in there. maybe it wasnt a good thing tho.

thanks again for the review dude!

ok

I don't know FF much, but this sounds pretty good.

The synths are damn cheesy, but they sound good- that being, not VERY good. I loved the pads you used, but some of the other things you used really doesn't sound that good.

The little running lead goes on very nice, but variation would be good though rite

I like the lil break, the bassdrum sounds weaker than ever though

If you continued on the part after that break with the same style you could make a nice circus/comic feel, the melody was simply funny

Ok good work, ut I could like to see much more intergration, cause it sounds a bit like a clashy after a while.

beatmasterJAG responds:

All points noted.
Like I said its Orion-doesnt get much cheesier.
Thanks for the reivew.

well nice

Never done a single song in any else time signature than 4/4 XD
It sounds like crap when I try

Nice fusion of synths and other sorts of jazzy instruments. IT clashes together a lot but whatever. Good work.

Suspended-3rd-Chord responds:

thanks for the review SBB! :)

most of the stuff i've submitted here is 4/4, everything but this track and pluvium is in both 3/4 and 4/4. most people have a natural feel for 4/4, this one just happened to have a feel for 5/4 when I was writing it, I was trying aiming for a different time signature :P anyway, not a big deal hehe.

i can see where it clashes, the drums during the third phase was too broad, so I can see where you here the clashing.

thanks again!

yay koto

wait- nay koto - actually I hate koto's - here it just sounds thin... but that's just my opinion.

Well except for that...

Jesus Christ what a massive orchestral monster! It seems to aggressively boost in volume and power when the strings get started.

Okay, the drummage here is great. Makes a very dramatical feeling. What samples do you use? cause I'm considering to buy/get some orchestral refill (which should include orchestral percussion)

Tubular bells yay.

Choir is a tad low when all that orchestral stuff comes right in my face. Yes, what samples do you use for you choir too.

Fantastic work as usual man. Good luck in the contest!

MaestroRage responds:

You don't like the Koto?!

:O?

Well I guess thats understandable. Then I suppose you don't like the Mandalin either. The two sound quite similar.

The orchestra samples are all East West Symphonic Orchestra Gold PRO. I do not think there is a refill for it. The percussion comes purely from that also. It's a 35 gig monster.

The choir in this was a mix and match of a few choirs. The dominant force behind it though is East West Symphonic Choirs!

I'm glad you liked the piece SBB, thank you for the review, and for the good luck!

ouch

slow it down, I wanna hear how it actually sounds

X-ZON responds:

its just a super fast remix of Max 300 from DDR man

betterer

I still don't see why you have a lot of disortion there :/

Flute is a good touch, but it doesn't seem to fit or sync the other things in the track. drums are good, man I've heard that certain trance drums buildup SO many time today- too much fruityloops <:D

This song is pretty good, but there's room for major improvement, especially when it comes to the mastering.

DoobyTimePiece responds:

hehehe, i dont use Fl. but i can under stand ware your coming from. im geting better. did i have distort an? dammit i need to watch my fing undo redo, but thanx for the review sbb.

wow

quite a scary track you've got there. Not a lot to say about it but it's kinda- offensive for sure- like it's going to get me lol. The bass sounds pretty good, some better drums would really do this track much better.

LollipopNightmare responds:

thank you for your comment.
