Oww

This one has a lot I could tell you about, even though it´s only guitar and I have never played or heard anything from Final Fantasy at all.

I really liked the original guitar, which sounds like it´s from a southern beach, played in the sunset.

The background guiar could have an effect that would have made it amazing, if you put it forwards and backwards at times, so it comes in and fades out at times, that would add more excitement into it.

However, there was not a lot of diversity in this song.
If you added more melody than there actually was, had some nice effects like a chorus for the main guitar, just a weak one, and played some ccounermelodies, it could have been a remix, even with only guitar.

This sounds like David Gilmore at some of his more relaxed tracks, really. (That means I like it, duh.)

Do you need to improve the sound quality? it´s actually perfect already.

Great work again WinTang, you keep impressing me!

WinTang responds:

I did add a lot actually, the whole lead second half is mine. It also has effects, and that's where the quality needs to get improved because some of them clash and you can't properly hear what's going on all the time.

I'm not one to turn down a Gilmour-reference, thanks a lot for that.

I might go back to this one day, lots of worthwile things have been said and yours was a good addition - thanks!

Arabical, WHAT THE FUCK??

Why is it arabic-sounding?
Well, it is really great, but I wonder why you added arabical sense into it. I don´t know what that MAC was for, but I think it was to have a theme for the TANKMEN movies, wasn´t it?

OK, this was truly a great piece, I can indeed see this in a TANKMEN movie. You are really amazing when it comes to the difference of your different tunes.

You can have classical, techno, rock, whatever you want will turn great.

Nice melody, it´s actually great, because it has a lot of variations within the same track.
I obviously like these kinds of melodies better than flat and boring ones because it´s a lot more exciting listening, and it is at times what makes a song good or bad.
Good!

Originality is an 8, great.

Diversity is a 9, really much in it for 43 seconds, and a lot of variations on the base melody.

Clarity is a 10, flawless.

Effort is a 9, really freat work, but I wish it was a bit longer and had some different kinds of instruments included with these.

Overall: 9. Thsi track is truly amazing.

WinTang responds:

Hehe, thanks a lot - I don't really see the arab thing, it sure wasn't intentional. I based it more on the stuff Kurt Weill (1900-1950) has made.

WooooooooooooooooT!

(For some reason I suddenly started not being able to make a review without showing absolute everything I thought about the song, so yeah...)

It´s really short. That´s too bad, since I really hoped to get some more out of it, because it really is awesome.

I liked how you made it Video Game style, this sounds like a wood adventure with a little man at platforms trying to climb up the three.
That´s how I think it could be if it was a game.

You say it´s DrumNBass, but I don´t know, really. Lots of drums and bass but I don´t knwo if it´s that genre... you called it Video Game genre, so you really hit me in the head with the description of this song.

Very good job! It´s a fifen.

WinTang responds:

Hey it's a loop mate, it can be as long as you want it :)

Ah well the description. It is a Final Fantasy tune as you probably know, and I know it's not exactly D'nB but it is a breakbeat based on stuff by Kosheen etc.

Thx again.

AMBIENTZ

Hooray! I love ambients! I don´t know with lullabys though.
But my default sight at lullabys is fairly different now, after seeing this.

Did I tell you that this is one of the best songs I have ever heard here at the Audio Portal? The synths you have added together in such a beautiful way, is one of the most impressive way to make a song I have ever heard.

I had to download this. If you keep up making awesome songs like these, then your audio page will turn out as something outstanding.

The slow, relaxing way you did this is just pure joy. The guitar was an addition which made the tune perfect.
I haven´t got words for how good this was.
Nighty Nighty! (Oh, I forgot I had 6 more promised reviews)

I´m a little baby now. In the bed.

WinTang responds:

Now this song has exactly four times as many downloads as it has reviews!

Thanks for all the praise! To be honest, I'm very satisfied with this myself.
You should also check out the version with PedroMancuso on vocals:

His own music is awesome, too.

Looking forward to the 6 other reviews already :)

Classical, eh?

The start kinda makes me sick, because it´s
insanely slow and one-tracked. It gets better latter in the track, though.

It is very relaxing. I doubt you rushed this, really. Great work.
But I don´t know... I don´t like songs that much if it´s only strings in the song...

I don´t see all the changes shere... at times there is a footstep machine going around and at times it just ends... Gotta get my headphones back soon XD

Nice melody. It made the song a lot better, thrust me.
It is very slow, and therefore I think it sounds annoying at times, because it never goes forward.

But either way, nice track. I think youy could have added other instruments though, to flavour the song more.

It´s a four.

WinTang responds:

It's not for everyone, I'm sure.

Unfortunately (for some), this is as much orchestration as string quartets offer. There is a lot possible with just the four solo strings, but in this case I purposely kept it very slow and minimal. There is variation on a small level, and the feel really needs to appeal to you to be able to sit through it.

If you're still interested (it's fine if you're not :D), I wrote some details on it in other review responses, for both this one and the previous one.

I appreciate you taking the time to review a song you don't particularly like, always welcome.

With glee

Then it´s time for WinTang.

I have never actually listened to any of your tracks, WinTang, but now I see it was a total win doing it. (Username joke ^_^)

It´s really weird, it starts out as any rock track would, and then an insane man comes and destroys the whole theme, roaring his weird war roars. Just plain lovely.

In the same track you add some totally electronica-sounds to make the tune fully insane. Again. lovely.

What´s weird is that everytime it starts over (Yeah, and it´s way too abrupt) it seems to beat up a little step instead of starting over. It´s kinda scary, actually, but it makes the track really appealing and exciting.

So, there was a lot of stuff in this, and therefore it´s very loud. it sounds more thrown together, and it´s hard to get the song, and not get a lot of noise. Maybe the levels should be adjusted. A good start is lowering every single track in the song by 1-2 decibel and then see what the est parts of the song is, boost the volume of them and rather lower the sound of the other tracks.

Oh, and I loved the bassline.

WinTang responds:

Great review! Are the other nine going to be as detailed? Then you have a lot of work to do :D

Thanks a lot! Good advice on dosing the loudness, I'll keep that in mind.

Did you mean that it seems to increase in tempo when it starts over? If so, that's hilarious - something to start aiming at in certain cases!

Glad you picked up the bassline, I put lots of thought in basslines :)

Yay!

This actually sounds cool! A first track is often just crap (like mine) but yours was a very good, and diversed track, and I think this could be made by any band, actually, and played on the radiio, that´s how good it is,

But the problem is that it sounds better than the number 2! How the fuck did that happen.

Oh, nice riff! You thought it well out, and you made it fit the typical drum loop there, which I actually have heard in many songs.

Originality is a 5 bacause it´s only drums and a guitar. that´s used a lot.

Clarity is an 8, it´s no clipping or such, but the guitar may be a bit too loud at times.

Diversity is a 7, just what you need for a decent song.

Effort is a 9. Great.

Overally is an 8. This sounds so cool.

Stealth-Emergence responds:

Strange, this shouldn't sound any better or worst than the other version.

there are people who have claimed that version 2 is better, clearer and other comments too.

If you all knew what the differences were between this and number 2. you'd all be sick XD I swear

Thanks again though SBB

Peace Out!

Hmm...

The beggining clacking with sticks or something... what? That wasn´t any good at all! You should have a bad-ass drum solo in the front!

But I liked the drums. They were maybe taken a bit too much out in the end of the song, so it might sound boring just listening to the drums!

The problem with your early songs is that you only have a gauitar and a drum kit in them... so they all sound the same! Sorry if some of my reviews at these songs are a bit short, but there is not a lot to say about them, sorry!

Stealth-Emergence responds:

yeah this was a tune I started and got a little eager to submit, I never have gone back to this to complete it, maybe I will

I wouldn't say they all sound the same though, just the fact they all have a guitar and drum kit in them is the only similarity really

Thanks again SBB

Sweet Mother of Jesus!
This actually sounds like a jazz them! Don´t know how you did it, but it really does, maybe the guitar played an exceptionally jazzy melody.

You´ve made another mainly guitar-themed song, I see. this one sounded good.

You played the guitar nice, but it seems like when you stop playing a riff it ends far too abruptly instead of giving any sound latter in the song!

That´s weird, because even El-guitars do that!
Or maybe I am the weird here. But I don´t see any sense in it. Maybe I should just stop thinking about that.

I liked the el-piano, though it really didn´t fit much with the guitar. You know what´d been cool? Add an über-heavy riff into a trance song! That would be awesome!

Stealth-Emergence responds:

sounds like jazz? oh that was never my intention oh well! I actually thought the piano went well with the guitar in this. I think the guitar may have been slightly out of tune though when I did this, which may have caused it to not sound quite as good as it could have, oh well

Thanks again SBB

Peace Out!

Ouch

My ears bleed! Don´t you see? They bleed!
Oh, the guitar was so disorted, and it played a really random melody with totally different speeds and melodies.

I doubt you thought out the melody especially much on this one, as it sounds like you were just playing random songs.

It seems like you in your "youth" (Audo youth ^_^) liked to play the guitar a lot.
And maybe... you weren´t that good at it then, though... lawl, this is actually good if you have more different synths and play it on th beat instead of out of frames like you did this time.

But I didn´t like this at all.

Originality is a 5, not good at all.

Clarity is a 3. OUCH MY EARS! The guitar is wway too loud.

Diversity is an 8, this sounds damn long compared to the file size... maybe it was therefore it was that lack of clarity?

Effort is 6. You need to give this a lot more work than you did. This hurts you audio page.

Overall is a 4. Not good.

Stealth-Emergence responds:

Yeah I think the bit rate was really low on this piece, erm I actually really liked this piece, and had fun making it :P oh well can't please them all! lol

Thanks again SBB

Peace Out!
