ouchies

it has a really huge atmosphere. Is that a flute I hear. Whatever it is, it's one of the most interesting parts. There's almost no melody here, it's quite suspenseful.

VegetarianMeat responds:

The flute you're hearing is actually just the sound you hear at the beginning with a higher pitch. Thanks for the review :D

Much easier to listen to, much better too

I love the good old video game feeling you still ket, along with the more new video gamed strings. glock sounds a little off, but it's frigging scary. It goes on quite well with nice melodies, good work!!

triangleshower responds:

thanx, but
i HATE when people say 'nice melodies'
thats easy for me
its the PRODUCTION i need help with.

Review for this song

(I'm the Grillpie guy on another account)

This had a true Video Game feeling. Which is mostly because of the assemble of square and sine waves. I can clearly hear some great melodies in the song, but you don't seem to be assembling them well. The result is quite a messy song with the different sequencer tracks hard to hear. If you had timed it... much better, it would sounds pretty damn awesome.

There's some sort of piano here too, which might be the reason for the massive clipping issue, master it a lot (or just set down the volume on everything) and get that disortion away.

Doesn't seem entirely finished, but it sure has great sides.

triangleshower responds:

if it has a video game feeling, its not intentional; i just need to really get my skills with the analog synth up.
i'm actually very grateful for this review. im responding a while from when it was written.
this review actually put to my attention the lack of chordal structure in my songs, and my music was greatly improved afterwards

very minimalistic

the white noise you seem to have here is more like a drum pattern, as is everything else in the song. The song is disorted into nothing, but the rhytm is cool. Random fx, don't know. It sounds very compressed. I don't know

soulmasking responds:

This song wasn't intended to be an instrumental, without the lyrics I feel it loses quite a bit. I mearly posted this for anyone wanting the music and not the words for their flash. Also there are sound effects in it, however, they are not random. I mixed the guitar in very low compared to the drums. That's just how I prefer the music, I like drums over the guitar, so the guitar generally takes a back seat in my songs. Especially in any of my songs that I want to sound menacing, less is more as they say. Thanks for your review, and I'll be sure to keep your critiques in mind for future projects.

Carpunch

Yay

The melody sounds a lot like a drum pattern, as there's very few notes in it. Which isn't all that good, cause if you focus oly on one of the pitches you'll hear the same note over and over- it's hard to explain so I won't.

But the songs is great, the acoustica guitar sounding synth sounds good with the swirling reverb thing, the bass-ish one-note progressions actually sound great.

pads

holy shit awesome drummage

looks like an attempt at looping

but no really, this is great! It's a lot what I could see in a sky level in an RPG or platformer game. (which is what I often try to achieve with many of my songs)

yay

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

The melody sounds really cool played on piano, with the sustain pedal hammered to the floor. Especially the second part. I know what you mean, though.

Drums. I love the new program I have for them. Glad you like them too.

Odd about the looping, it loops perfectly if you download it. NG added like .03 seconds to the file.

Your songs actually kick ass to the 10th degree!

Thank you for the awesome review!\m/

I guess it's better than most'

But raelly, it sounds pretty midi-ish. It doesn't seem like you added anything on the side of the original notes. Sounds pretty coool though, except for the huge reverbed saw thing, it's too "big like"

umm

good enough for me tho

Exodeity responds:

Thanks for the review, i actually tried to keep it sounding like the original, cuz the original sounded great already :D

Huh???

Oh man I laffed when this played.

JFrosty responds:

Haha, thanks!

static

I love the atmosphere in it. nice, bitcrushed fx. Guitar sounds a little barfy in my opinion, but it's good enough. A little disortion with the bassy pad, I don't really like that but kay

The synth coming later sounds way random in melody, I don't know but it's annoying. Eh I don't know. Good stuffs.

Quarl responds:

Thanks for the review!

experimental-ish

the rhytm in the start does indeed sound very experimental. cool noise snare and stuffs. faint sax is cool, a lil low though. Wah wah wah bass thing. interesting. The track sounds plain weird in my opinion. But it's cool! good stuff

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

plain wierd? yep indeedy:)
cheers
;ped

Ah-

Lower the volume! It's clipping way too much!

okay

resonant acid bass sounds good, a lil in-ya-faic, but who cares. Synths all together sound good, very interesting mix. I loved the micro saw you got there.

Damn can't get words for it good enough

Neon-Crepth responds:

thnx for the review man. lol, sorry about the volume i guess. it might just be me but i didn't notice it really.
