Much, much better

I actually loved this track!
I hardly ever listen to piano only or classical (I have no idea why you put it in Trance...)

The melody is great, and has a perfect timing. (Do you use samples- seeing that yo requested them a while ago? The timing is possibly a bit too perfect.)

I still could see some more in this track. Piano usually isn't enough for a track except in insane classical tracks. I see you have a bass there too at times. but it's very low and could have an insane volume, that'd sound a crazy lot more bad-ass. And probably make it a trance sequence too.

You could add some drums, not neccesarily any huge stuff, but maybe just something small and really simple to keep the rhytm in it. (As I did with my last sumthin)

this is actually a great track ever how much I wrote about where it could've been improved (I seem to do that all the time), it's a beautiful track with a great melody.

(make better titles plz thnx)

Well what the fuck else am I going to call it? =P

Thanks SBB, Your review means alot to me. =]

This is good, it makes me kinda think of running from some gay murders combining all their powers to rape you to death.

This one does actually get burnt a bit too much into your brain.

All the drums are good, diversed and complex.

Great fx and efx. Shouldn't have been there all the time though.

bah I'm running out of stuffz to seh

Karco responds:

Hah. That's a new one. =P

By burnt, do you mean "stuck in your head to the point of sheer infuriation" or "stuck in your head to the point of going 'wow, catchy melody'" or do you just mean really, really high temperatures? =P Hah.

The drums I actually feel are fairly second-rate in this song... maybe it's just the sound of the FL defaults. Bah. I hardly use them anymore anyway. =P

FX and EFX? I don't know what you're talking about. XD Maybe it's the synth...

I don't mind that you're running out of things to say, though I do have one thing to point out - if you listen closely in the beginning and the big buildup in the middle of the song, you'll hear a bass/sawtoth thing going up in pitch up to the gunshot, and then it'll be playing a bassline-ish role throughout the rest of the song... bleh, that you didn't mention it probably means it was waaaaay too quiet. =P

Oh well - thanks for reviewing anyway. =)

catchy *WHEEE!* (loop)

Wooohoo! Should I finish this review?

Karco responds:

Yes. XD

Yah

A very good song indeed. the start is really making it sound like you're going to get out on a big space journey, and the sfx coming then makes it complete, also it is a very good addition for the sound of this piece.

The background synths and stuff are great for this piece, but the melody the pad plays seems off-tone, and the order of the notes, and the notes, are not making harmony, and they doesn't sound melodical.

You could change the notes to one full note up and two down (I think that's what I'm thinking about), which would have made it sound really great, and also it would have made it sound more epic-ish-y.

The percussion in this is good at times, but I don't think clap only is good for percussion, even though it is only on parts. Yu should have the percussion much more exciting the whole track over.

'nuff sed. >:(

Karco responds:

Yeah, I've experimented with the pads - everything, actually - and the song sounds a bit better - it has a slightly different attitude, too. I'll probably submit it sometime soon. In a day or two, maybe.

I'll look at the drums, too, but I don't see what's wrong with them. Maybe I'll have them fit the buildups a bit more, but otherwise they gave the feeling the rest of the song gives in my opinion. Hmmm.

Oh well, if it's still deserving of all 5 10's then you apparently think it's more than decent - so glad you like it and thanks for reviewing. =)

wooooot...

I never reviewed this song? blargh.
This is a fantastic trance-ish song, not as monotone as most trance songs.

I loved the upbeatness on this song, it has a lot of drive in it.

It sounds most like a kind of boss battle soundtrack or something on the boss level.

I can't understand how you ppl make your drums so damn good >:(

w00t Thanks SBB, sorry about the delay in response, I'm normally quick off the mark, but I've been a bit tied up with my "project" lol

Thanks man glad you like it

Peace Out!

The audio in this needs to be catched out.

I don't know what program you used for this, it isn't actually a song, as it has no rhytm in it, it kinda stops and then it just starts again, and the melody seems pretty random.

Remember to first take away ALL disortion from activities you're doing while doing other things, like when you click a button or move, and keep the mic a bit from the instruments and yourself.

the instruments you have could have made a great track if you just planned the instruments a bit to fit into each other.

And probably get some real software to help you :/

eyechieftrees responds:

Wow, that hurts. Just kidding, yeah I know, somethings are just gay like this, you know?

It was a keyboard by the way, and I plan to get a better one and some software.

Thanks for the review.

My gawd

I hear this kind of music too much in the Audio Portal- Trance and techno doesn't have any feeling- you should try having your own style.

But for a tranc ytune this is a good one, it has the usual nonsense melody which could have been made good if you took the effort that would take...

The drums are ok though they don't make the tune a lot better...

The only thing I don't like is that it is a so... overused genre >:-

but keep making music anyways.

Aaron-Miller responds:

lol! still, thanks anyways =p

Weird

The start is just as weird as it can get- it just comes in with a strange modded pad, and in comes my fucking TRADEMARK synth, goddamn it,

The song itself is relaxing and really good instruments choosed for that. but there isn't much more than that in it... except for a light bass synth.

I loved the piano you put in afterwards.

Keep it up, this is a great track!

The-next-MP responds:

thanks dude, glad you like it, the reason all the sounds are pretty basic is because it's one of the first peices i've done, towards the end of last year i switched from using a PC to a mac and for Christmas got Logic Pro 7 which is a fucking immense program, im just not that used to it yet, i've been using it at college as well, just takes a lot of getting used to and theres a lot to learn. also, it's not normally the kind of thing i would compose as i'm more of a rock based person, but i was feeling chilled out.

another thing is - there is more going on than you might think, not in terms of instrumentation, but in terms of form and musical characteristics and techniques.

the piece is almost quite minimalistic, which a lot of ambient music is, especially the original ambient music created by Brian Eno, he took reference from minimalist composers such as Steve Reich. the idea of it was that it was meant to be played quietly and with very little going on, which gives it the soothing "chill out" feeling. also, use of repetition gives this feeling aswell, where as too many changes stop you from relaxing, sometimes - Less is more.

the wave pad type synth sounds are also a soothing thing, they're generally quiet and build up slowly, if i used more sudden sounds, it wouldn't be as relaxing to hear.

another thing with this piece is that the bar lengths, if you listen closely, don't match up. i did this on purpose, and basically what happens is, they start in time and slowly go out of time, so some of the notes don't match up on the next cycle through the "melody" this keeps happening until they meet in the same place.
so like i said, there's more going on than you think, you just have to be aware of it to hear it. have another listen and see if u change ur mind.

thanks for your review dude

Dreamy

I loved the start- you should have kept the style! The pad you used is really awesome. The strings didn't fti.

wait... now it's coming some beats in! and it's catchy too! And there are more pads! the song is getting better! Actually it is VERY good now. The piano made it even better.

this song keeps the mix good, could like to see some mroe intense beats at some parts though.

check your PMs soon

Karco responds:

Hmm. Maybe I'll remake the piece and keep the style somtime.

Yeah, I'm VERY proud of the percussion in this one. Same goes for the piano - especially towards the end of the song. Thanks again for stopping by to review... glad you like it so much! =D

addictive

The melody is catchy and keeps you listenining. I'm not so sure about the other parts though.

It was more like you mashed the piano with the deep tones, and it's way too loud too. The songs gets a lot of clipping becuase of this too.

The song itself isn't much since it is only a piano that's going. Keep trying though. Could have been a lot better.

Karco responds:

Huh, it sounded that bad? It sounded okay to me. =\ Yeah, I do agree I might have made it a bit too loud. That was my first attempt at anything classical/instrumental with FL, though, so I wasn't expecting it to be perfect, either. Glad that you like it to some degree or another. Thanks for the review. =)
