wtf LOL.

that part in the start has a very nice atmosphere pad, but it kinda gets drawn out by the kinda random kicks that you put in every fourth measure...

The pad, however, is really great, a very heavily reverbed pad with breath and choirs as a main part that actually makes a cold vox with all the effects you put on it. It plays slow notes, not really a melody since it's so slow and minimal, but I suppose that's the fastest you CAN play with a pad like this.

Good that you had some much better percussion work later in the song, and it was about friggin time since the piano came in just at that part. The percussion is simple, yet very very suiting this track.

The piano is really good sounding, but some of the sound parts that you had at many of the piano's melodies sound really shimmering and off-tone.

As usual you have put a load of different background fx and fx pads, which gives the song a very "living" feeling. Yet it is empty at the parts with no fx because there is nothing more than synthed pads and other instruments that doesn't give life to a song, they give melody to it.

I better go makesomething now that you inspired me with this track!

Great ambience Karco, you're getting really great.

Karco responds:

Hmm... those kicks were intended to add to the atmosphere, and they actually aren't every fourth measure, there's no real pattern. I put them where they sounded the best. Hah!

Yeah, I really like those pads. I have a lot of those with the "spacey" feeling. Often I get inspiration from one of them... that's how this song, Nova, Phantom Zero, Lost in Time, and a few others started out.

I'd have to agree about the percussion, it was one of my better choices for this song. Nothing else to add here.

The piano sounded off-key? Hmm, it didn't to me. It could be NG, or it could be how high the notes are in the last bit. Hmm.

I can see what you mean with the FX and how it sounds empty at times, but see the thing is I didn't want to be criticized for using them too much... I guess I went too far the other way, instead! Hah.

Thanks for the review, glad you like it. I wonder what you'll make with the inspiration this song gave you. =)

EDIT 4-10-08: At least five songs? XD

dude

This track loops perfectly, and I've had it going for about one hour now... it's a bit annoying hearing the same thing all over but it's a good track though.

It's another techno man eh? I think this is a lot mroe trance than techno, as it's the same "catchy, repeative" style, with typical trance synths. There's such a lot of them at NG, but many of them, like this, are enjoyable.

It's so repeative that it's nearly unbelieveable, it's like a loop going on all the time with some slight variations, thugh these slight variations make some diversity in the track.

It's a good base riff you made on is though, and you did a great job with percussion and countermelodies.

I could like to see some more backgrounds instead of just trance strings, a very low atmospheric ambient pad could have done a great thing to the track at certain parts.

Good job man, it's a good track.

Drakkin responds:

ya, that was the main problem I had with it to (the repetitiveness of it) I will definitely work on that, thanks a lot for the review :D

whoa...

I've had the fact that it may burn down whoole houses if someone is careless for a while now...

Either way, this is some great space jazz. Loved the way you intergrated the music with the voice samples and made it fit into the rhytm.

The music itself isn't really the main thing of this song, it seems like it's more the voice samples that did the song.

The music is great though, it'd be great longue music if you'd taken away the speaking dude and made it a bit slower-ish...

Khuskan responds:

Space jazz eh? Hmmm, that gives me an idea...

haha

This is some of the most typical fl mess around, at least the beginning. A typical simple and not well constructed drum beat at all, then it follows up with a trnce ish melody.
owww

Well, the piano was the really good thing in this, it had a very good rhytm, totally following the beat.

And the trance strings are a bit too much alike the pianos, more like a very simplified decision of the piano than a real track in the song.

Keep stuffing up, but remember to get a lot more complexified beats. AND DONT FADE

Fico responds:

yeah,i am lame at endings.
i thought fading sounds better than just stopping ;]

hi karco

its ambient

and its a lot more calm than a lot of your songs, i really enjoyed that, as it seems that you can put a lot more in a slow song to make it more harmonic and melodic

i liked the times you had pitch bedn on your air choir, it sounds a lot like what i do at times

loved the rhodes that comes in at times, it makes silence into the piece though it makes it sound a lot more 'under pressure'

this piece seems to be under pressure and never really explodes as you could expect it too

truly great ambience

Karco responds:

Hmm... your typing habits have changed quite a bit recently. What's up? =)

For my first try at Ambient, it's pretty good, though you're definitely better at this than I am. Hah!

It's interesting, that you think this song is "under pressure," as I was trying to have as little stress/pressure/etc. on this song as possible. Calming, mellow, etc. ;) Mind elaborating via PM sometime?

Thanks for the review, (and the 10 =D) and glad you like it.

nice

Good for a 1337th track...
(Browsing the NGAP radio player...)

Liked the way you had it chilled all the way, not very itense, but it keeps going though.

A bit short maybe?
And there is quite a lack of diversity too.

hahaha

this is the first submittion ever? whoa

And it's a 4 second loop?

Well, it's good for a small 4 seconds loop for a menu as you said but for anything else, well then it's nothing...

h.

eh.-..

I didn't see all the ambience in this... it has a lot of hip hop, not that much ambience

Liked the melody in this, the choice of instruments is excellent too, makes a great crossover of electronica and old style, but the electronica layers seem totally off-beat

Liked the drums in these, very good jungle styled

aye

BritZombie responds:

Cheeres mate. I'm new to all this new music lark so im just finding my way
