yup

Seriously who wants to have a machine in their face. That would just be annoying and hurt like a bitch. If the machine is really big like a train motor or something you'd have to use a crane to lift your head as you're going, and who wants to do that all day. You'd end up being a lazy fucker who can hardly do anything more than moving around your head. I heard you could drag it out if you got a doctor/mechanican hybrid, then you could possibly wait a minute

This is a song?!?!?

oh...

the pizzapuzza sounds really good, it's giving an own feeling to the whole song. You could possibly have made the reverb and delay a bit less dominant, I'm clearly hearing this annoying atmospheric noise you get by over-reverbing something and the delay just makes that effect louder. If you did that on purpose it was a bad bad decision in my opinion

And now it's some crazy drum things... very well diversed, and you made it fit the track entirely (which is the art of not going too much in the drum work itself). They sound a bit crazeh for my taste, but they make it good fo'sho

I like your new part with choir and deep burning pad... nothing to comment here, nothing wrong with anything. The drum only parts you have once in a while are quite long and could need something besides the drums in it. Sound effects you know? :D

Nice progression and build-up, overall a great hybrid of far-apart genres. More of the sub bass plz

HouseMasta's "remix" sounds about the same... except it being more dynamic and faster... so, I guess that you could read the review I left him (which is about 4-5 reviews before this one)

So now I should apparently rewrite that review entirely and credit you for about everything >:[

EchozAurora responds:

Probably. I did like the way that he mixed it though.. it's like he fed the song a pound of sugar or something.

Review

The pad you used in the start with a droppling square sound sounds very dominant and much more electronic than the rest of the pads. this could use some simple bassnotes too. Good pads used in this, nothing super-special but you made them fit together. The reverb on pretty much everything kills a little, but it's ok

I like this track, and the seeing the universe born image was about what I got when I listened to this track. Good job.

SolusLunes responds:

Eh, I didn't use TOO much reverb.

Any suggestions on the type of bass? I'd appreciate any and all kinds.

Indeed minimal

The start was incredibly dull and empty... you could've done mroe out of it than a low rez kick and a clap eh? Good that the following part sounds good though, Liked how you made the pade come in panning from the left speaker and then when it's at it's full put it into both of the speakers. Cleverly done!

the following beats and melodies all fit very well, they're very glitchy and makes a really awesome glitch/IDM feeling. The VG FX that comes in later is overwhelming and makes the song super messy, but that's how IDM is I guess :) Pretty nice square pad you got in a little before the end, maybe the thing I liked most of it.

Holy hell this song is long! It's still not done! The end was like the start, pretty cheap, but the song's main part really makes it out!

Great IDM/Video Game, have a 4/5!

(also it'd be awesome of you if you hit me back with a review too- but you don't need to)

Squarears responds:

this trk is supposed to be representative of the good old days of games consoles, so the cheap sounds are very much purposeful. As for the start being very dull, i disagree, the intention with this track was to build, and if you find 8bars of drums dull then maybe it's your attention span that should be called into question.
I would also like to add that I dont think the song gets messy at any point, perhaps it sounds more messy than it is in reality, as here it's only at 96kbps, if you hear it at 128kpbs or 192kbps, even better:) the space of the mix is far more apparent, but what can you do.
Reviewed one of your ambient tracks, very nice indeed.
Thanks for the honest review.

ms rave...

what does that mean... Microsoft Rave? Is that some new workstation program them bastards created :D

pretty good tune here, awesome pads. They have a very breathing sound, you could've made the effect even clearer with more gain on the super-high frequency and more velocity on the noise...

The leads have great melodies, they're all very catchy, but they don't have the nice feeling that most soft leads have. work on it.

What be this? GarageBand preset effect samples? :O

Very nice buildups in this. The way you got in a beat (which is good- though it's a bit too gabbertechno-ish and repeatative for my taste) too is very nice

Nice track you've got here dude. I wouldn't call this a rave, it's a bit soft and changes the style about ALL the time...

Five and ten for you. It's awesome to see how popular you are around here too :)

Music-story responds:

ehh? garage band presets? I actually made the effects with my drum kits. If you read my past review (not sure which one) I said I made around 95% (or at least for sure 90%) of the special effects with kits. This means that I had to play the keyboard to make the special effects. I didn't know gb3 had presets like this. I could of saved myself alot of time. MS stands for music story. Yeah mastering is an issue but at the end of the song I wanted the chaos feeling so I purposely made it hard to hear the notes. Using like 17 different features in my music program in the last 20 or so seconds of my song...of course it wouldn't be clear no matter how hard I tried to master it. Done on purpose...system crash. The song was not supposed to be soft. I know you expect soft stuff from me considering all my other songs are soft, but these NG ppl love raves so much it's funny. I made one to satisfy them rave lovers. :) I'm really not too worried about the mastering. The composition is the hardest part which not many can do, but mastering...well tons of people can do that very well. I'll just ask someone to master my tracks for me. Yah lazy me. :) Thanks for the review...quite nice I might add.

awesome piece

but why the fuck do everybody leave before they even got regulars... now you'll remember me as a complete dumbfuck damnit

the flute was the best aspect of it, the thrills later on the flute came to it on perfect timing.
Piano sounds good, a little bare though.
Guitar sounds really good, though not very diverse...

not much to say except for awesome work!
bye a bit late :(

aspachi responds:

Not very Diverse? Aww, come on! That's Perfect Diversity I put out onto That song! Though you right about my Piano, a Little Bare....Hey, i'm Coming back to NG! ^_^

STOP TELLING ME WHAT TO DO!!!!!!

First you're telling me to turn the noise off, and then telling me to shut the fuck up, thinking you can just demand me to rave (which is not my style at all DICKS GRR) and friggin dance to your stupid fucking beat. (jk)

having that said, this is a cool track. The main synth is damn great with the spacy square. Could like to see more diversity here though.

also, GENERIC GABBER KICK FOUR TIMES A MEASURE

Father-of-Death responds:

xD

w,e

i like teh gabber kick though, it's just my opinion

but thnx for this review...

the one you reviewed for "lion king" scared me...

hahahahahahaha!

first SORRY FOR MY LAST REVIEW, lol I wasn't serious, just wanted to see how you'd respond if I acted like a grumpy old man :D It has a core of truth thou :/

This isn't half bad! The guitar soundfont sounds quite realistic compared to other guitar soundfonts *chuckles* I've heard.

this needs more than just guitar and drums >:(>:(>:(>:(>:(>:( SBB angreh

Father-of-Death responds:

you are allways angreh bout somethin haha!

but thnx for the reviews man!

i'm to lazy to review back....

lolwtf...

this is extremely unstructured and sounds more like some small loops put together... the start is... a synth loop with a completely different techno loop with a small drum pattern... sounds so horribly off-note, it makes me want to kill something
then................................... a panning thing with an effected snare?

wtf

and a dance loop coming in plus the loop in the start....
...now for a lot of wet wraps put together.
and so it just restarts...
this is complete and utter audio-nonsense. as weird as it gets, also it's nearly inaudible at times.

I suggest you to try and keep structure by having the loops and samples you're using at the same tempo, and making a structured setup with verses, small bridges/fades/changes into the main part on your techno/dance/whatever you're making for a MUCH better song. Also try to not make it blindingly obvious that you're just using loops by for example making playing the synths yourself too...

:D

eyechieftrees responds:

Because, I have no life. I'm buying FL sometime, so I might actually be able to make something that's worth listening to.

jeez...

now that's gotta be a long poem, lol.

this song I felt is actually even more dramatical than the other tracks you've made, maybe mostly because of the huge orchestral kick in it. Sounds pretty before-battle ish there, but it evolves into something that still is dramatic, but it doesn't have the same dark style then.

the start could have been outdone even more, and I mean the very start; aka lengthening the very first note on the string section and then go on on the note progression for the strings in the intro and finally release the rest of the track.

The choirs sound crazy good, but I can barely hear it through the strings. The second bunch of strings which play a much lighter meldoy are also of a very low volume, so for the flute. these instrument (in my opinion) should have a more significant role in the piece.

the super-light chime was obviously made several octaves too high-pitched but could've been removed entirely.

There I'm done with suggestions/critisism, I'll just say that this track IS incredibly beautiful and overwhelming, there's really not a lot that could possibly get better.

This track is really dramatic, but at the same time, it's incredibly slow and not overdone at all. It's a very weird mix which strangely suits this track perfectly.

MaestroRage responds:

quite an interesting review SBB, i'll give it that! There are some valid points you bring up, now allow me to defend my choices :D

You see, the choir was lowered in volume because making it louder drowned out the rest of the instruments. I am not yet versed well enough in equalizing to be able to make a choir sound great without killing it's core.

Poor core... how I killededed you...

The chime was a little loud, i'll give it that X(!

There was a volume controller that didn't work during the export, which as a result made the booming transition a little "too booming", but it turned out that people didn't mind it, so i'm not going to complain. Maybe it made the piece more interesting!

The intro idea you brought up, is quite an interesting one. I did not contemplate that during the creation of the piece, and now am interested to seeing how that would have affected the piece. I will have to do that tonight if I get the chance.

Thank you for the review SBB, I apologize for the super late response, i'm so overworked T-T. I'm glad you enjoyed the piece!
