great!

You've really got a nice sound. The bright plucky synths cut right through the mix, and everything else stays in the background, nothing is overpowering or anything. About halfway through, the drums sound SO bright and nice, it's really lovely to listen to. Excellent production, great composition, good sounds, I really have nothing to complain about! Good luck with the contest!

aliaspharow responds:

Wow. Thanks man! Before, i had no hope. Now i have a klondike bar. yay

haha man!

How could this possibly be made by anyone else than you? :D
Simple pads - check, really weird drums with delay - check, minor scale clean guitar stuff - check, synth lead based on a simple wave form - check, really deep sub bass - check, tons of delay everywhere - check, everything is in minor scale and it sounds dark but strangely optimistic - check!

A bit long perhaps, and the drums kinda throw me off, other than that it's a very sweet song.

SineRider responds:

thank you sbb, but uh-oh, I think I'm becoming redundant...

cool one

One of those nice repetitive but deep sounding house songs. The snare/clap and cymbal kinda disturbs that nice sound though... they sound a bit too plain vanilla in this context I think. The intro part could've been much shorter- you don't get to hear the beefy parts before you're like halfway into the song. THOSE ARE MY CRITICISMS

The biting bright bass was a really nice surprise. Really enjoying the piano/pad thing in the intro too. And the shuffle-rhythm is a nice touch too. Kick is nice and tight in the latter part of the song. Good work man!

DjAbbic responds:

Thanks alot for the critisicm and comments ^^. My internet is a bit complicated as I am moving and using a mobile broadband which is very slow, so I couldn't get to you earlier. Thanks again :)

cool

I must say I'm a bit tired of hearing that half-time drum thing in so many songs. I mean it sounds cool but I feel the song could use some more energetic drums. My opinion anyway.

The bass synthhas a really nice sound, bright but well rounded.

Hm, didn't come up with much to say about this one. But nice work! And good luck with the fight

dj-Nate responds:

You hear that a lot in dubstep. You probably don't hear it much in more mainstream songs. And if I made it energetic, I'd be defeating the purpose of the song =/

Thanks for the review :)

wow

So I'm listening to it and I get this holy-shit-feeling, you know, that "that is one extreme flanging effect on that drum kit, why don't you turn that down, I'm trying to sleep"-type holy shit, all of this while you play the weirdest chromatic melodies I've ever heard, in a totally awkward time signature with a really aggressive mix.

I'm overwhelmed!

And even after several listens I can't really make sense out of the melodies and sounds. I mean I hear some nice concepts, like you throw around some diminished chords here and a bit of an altered scale there, but it never sounds pleasant. I guess I just don't get it. :P

Kirbyfemur responds:

lol maybe you shouldn't be trying to sleep when you are listening to the deathmatch song xD

holy shit

That is aggressive and energetic. Kinda sounds like Pendulum on speed with a noisier production, almost to the point where it's funny. But it's very cool. I hear a lot of interesting musical ideas. Very diverse song, cool transitions all over the place. Mix wise, it's definitively a bit too heavy in the mid-high range, since almost every instrument is in that range. A possible solution to this is to do a bit of panning work (pan two similar instruments about halfway to each side), that'll clean stuff up a little and lets you hear each element more clearly. Currently the song sounds almost mono.

Anyway definitively a cool song, and I can really hear there's some effort put into it.

dj-Jo responds:

lol
Thanks XD

Anyway
I'll do what I can with Panning :)
Thanks for the review SBB!

oh god

Too much goddamn treble! A very harsh, noisy and unpleasant treble too. Especially during the climax. I can't listen to this at a high volume, it becomes painful. And even at low volumes, it sounds like there's a just layer of noise in the top end of the frequency spectrum.

The melody is sweet though, very nice and joyful. I'm no fan of the super-aggressive distorted kick and synth but I suppose that's what makes this song really

SessileNomad responds:

yeah that happens with the treble :( srry

wow!

This is really my kind of stuff. Beautiful slow tune that constantly builds up without going overboard. Especially enjoying the sparsely played acoustic guitar. Not much more to say about it, but I'm certainly keeping this one for listening in the future. Awesome work.

my gosh

Do you submit stuff somewhere else on the interwebs? I really really want to hear more from you.

gOrc responds:

I was trying to build something up at MySpace, SoundCloud and a german musician community. The problem is that I didn't got enough time to maintaining them and all of this starts came to an early end. If I'm able to establish anywhere else on the web, I will post that in the news.

welcome to bluegrounds :))
