lolk

Sounds pretty bizarre, feels a bit like the sims songs you know? Just for the "alien" version of it... if it'll ever exist :) A bit too much static on them hifreq leads though, some filterin' would do great. I do think it's a bit too synth-influenced to strictly be called anything near a "rock groove" :)

Sounds very lovely though, in some way cute, but I ain't gonna listen to that for anything else than a game.

Syntrus responds:

Its just a lil song for background music so thats the point.

Lol, SBB, you wouldn't understand this type of humor.

nice :D

I don't know how you trance people work with yer music, but I'd just do some hi-cut to those trancy, fruity lead synths if I were you. Just to you know, get rid of some uber hi-freq static. To let the listener focus more on the actual thing. I don't know, just a suggestion :)

As said, lovely synths with fantastic melodies (may not be your 'fault' though :P) and some unneeded junk vocal lines that would be better off this song

nicey

I love the melodies and all, but you need some masterings here, cause there's a lot of clipping all over the place, especially with that soft guitar like lead going. As said, the melodies are really dreamy and wonderful :)

Try some drums here for once :D

Gnydsmelt responds:

Thanks, i am in fact a real drummer ;O but i suck at doing digital drums so ;O :P

Thanks for the awesome review!!

Either this is horribly stolen, or you just recreated the tune incredibly well. My bets are on the first option, though the main melody does sound a bit weirder than in the very very original. And even if you did make it yourself, oh come on! Make something original that ain't so close to the very very original song.

I didn't like em oriental sounds too much. And that's as far as my negatives go. I just love the way it turns into an intense drum-and-fx mayhem later on in the song. You sure are great at them masterings and making stuff sound good, cause here you did one damn great job mixing it for a professional sound. Nothing much more to say than

VEWY WELL. DOEN

Thanks for the comments! I don't really have a mastering regimen - all I usually do is put a compressor and some EQ on the master bus. I put most of my effort into mixing.

Hey nice, I'd expect a bit more to come out of that, so I was of course a little disappointed. But I see you're making it for like, flashes. I could see a majorly epic full song come out of what you've already done here though, so I really suggest you continue on it.

For suggestions on the song right now, I don't have much, though I'd like to see those deep chords louder, and a thicker or eventually more hollow sounding snare, as this is one of the few times I could see it fit.

Wonderful melodies, sadly they're all based on a very simple little theme. I'm sure you could make it even more varied and fill up more frequency spectrum. Synths also happen to be sorta dull sounding together as they're... ALL based off saw waves. Lovely elegant legato slides on certain synths though.

coolio

alertG responds:

They are all based on saw waves, theyre my favorite :P But ill keep that in mind for future songs. Also, I guess it could use a little more variation frequency wise.

overall it is just a demo, so it isnt really a finnished peice. but thanks a lot for your feedback!

Chords ain't remarkable at all, it all feels rather bland when there's the same few instruments around all the time- I can hear that there's strings in the background, maybe a choir too? If that's the case they're both hell too silent, and you should consider boosting up the volume of the slow attack instrument while EQing up the treble of the oboe

I think that'd give a better mix

lah deh lah dah

I loved the calm pads in the beginning, you'll need to have more of it in parts like 0:21 and on etc. One thing that got me is how drums sound very weak for this kind of song. Sharpen up that kick and use a snare with a longer decay for awe. More distortion on bass would do good too.

Lovely little sine synth you got going, I'd boost its level and reverb it around if I were you. Now for the orchestrale... again I'd reverb the staccato strings for amplifying that highlands feeling you just gave it with them strings. Also some remarkable string chords and bass strings to back up the staccato would have been absolutely fantastic. Then how about adding brasses... nah, now I'm just daydreaming :o

YES

cycerin responds:

Thanks for the review and suggestions. :D

...What are you smoking though, do you know how shit my mix would become if I added enough reverb to make it actually stand out through that fat fat staccato string arrangement? :P Percussion and such is intentionally soft. Reverb on the sine lead though, that might be a good idea.

but hey why don't you make a remix? You seem to have a pretty good idea of how you want it. :D

welcome to bluegrounds :))
