good

nice wind in the start... could've been a lot more reverbed for a better wind feeling.

I like the leads here, they sound really good.

Percussion is great too... liked the little EQ thing you did with it to almost make a fusion with the percussion and wind. Sounds pretty experimental.

But please try to make the song a bit more "filled", and make something more out of it. This song doesn't have the whole feeling that you get of many songs.

Pokemon.

That's what comes to mind when I hear this, not MapleStory or Mario like other ppl said, but Pokemon... Mostly because of the start. This is really calm and soothing, but it sounds... midi-ish...

Very well job on the pad works here, the wind in this song is just like a real wind, and you make it swing into the track perfectly. I could like to see something to go besides it, though, some sound effects maybe? I don't know what kind, but something that fits the super-happy tivoli feeling of this. The pad in the start sounds like it's being tortured, it's wobbling and flipping out, if you had a cleaner, more straightforward version of that pad and used that instead it would sound much better. I like the sweeps here too, which does mix with the wind that comes after it.

For the leads, there aren't many, but what I can hear is good. It would've been great if you had a melancholic lead after a while to give a little contrast to the whole sweet feeling of this, which may get a bit lame after a while.

I like the sequence elements and low-sustained synth hits, they have great melodies and are really well diversed.

The drums, now THAT is something really noticable! The drum work is so great and fits the track so much! Patterns suit melodies and fits in where there wasn't nything before. Awesome job man! I loved everything about the percussion except the generic christmas shaker things, which gets a bit intense after a while.

The build up is ok. Nothing of another world, but it really lacks a good start and ending. Sometimes you need to make something that sounds like a start and ending instead of beginning in medias res and ending by simply fading every instrument out after each other. It would add much more meat to the bone and give a really professional feeling if you made the start and ending different from the rest of the track.. I personally forget this too much, too, it's hard, but you should really try.

Great song though! Professionally done. You really did an awesome job on making this track.

Music-story responds:

Pokemon....I hate that show. About the midi part...yeah I figured out how to convert all midi stuff to real instruments with my music program recently. That's why "system override" sounds not midi like. I thought the christmas shaker would give ppl the happy feeling...the jolly feeling. I guess the warbly sound you heard at the start may sound like torture, but it could be a sound a kid (like 6-10 years of age) might like. I tried to make this as childish as possible. Not sure what you want me to do with the start and ending. My songs don't really have a start since they keep on changing themes throughout the song. This song had 3 separate themes so I guess 3 starts and 3 ends? This is one of the rare tracks I made that actually has decent clarity. Still some have told me not clear enough so I still need lots of improving. Thanks for the review. Reminds me of karco style reviews. Bye for now

Sounds experimental

I felt the intro with only one lead and a kick once in a while was a bit long, you could've developed it a bit faster and that way made it sound much more professional/interesting. In my opinion. The rest of the song is much better, though you only added one thing it's like you added a lot.

I would've submitted this to the Video Game genre as it sounds like an oldschool game in a dungeon or somehting.

Ok I'll review a few more of these. laters.

R-VeeBee responds:

Thanks dude!

You're right.. Well, usually my experiments are only about concept and not really about much diversity and fast development. You're right about that.. It's a boring too long intro. But it could work for some people though.. but well.. anything would work for them so, hehe. :)

It has got video game-like synths and stuff maybe, but it has more like a techno-ish tune, not a full recognizable melody like in game music!

Thank you for the review, glad you liked it overall!

Peace,
R-VeeBee

weird that's it

seems like a breathing sound and a a little fx in the start... then it gets this weird squeaky shaking thing until you release the track- which is underlying and shakey. The whole song seems to be based on the various fx sounds in it... which makes it weird and wonderful at the same time. I don't know what this mastering thing is but wtf

Rucklo responds:

Thanx mate! Most samples are foley samples recorded with a H4-zoom, fun little gadget! Basicly everything is made from skratch, a few samples in the drum loop is not though.

Check this thread to learn a little about how I performed the mastering;

yup

Seriously who wants to have a machine in their face. That would just be annoying and hurt like a bitch. If the machine is really big like a train motor or something you'd have to use a crane to lift your head as you're going, and who wants to do that all day. You'd end up being a lazy fucker who can hardly do anything more than moving around your head. I heard you could drag it out if you got a doctor/mechanican hybrid, then you could possibly wait a minute

This is a song?!?!?

oh...

the pizzapuzza sounds really good, it's giving an own feeling to the whole song. You could possibly have made the reverb and delay a bit less dominant, I'm clearly hearing this annoying atmospheric noise you get by over-reverbing something and the delay just makes that effect louder. If you did that on purpose it was a bad bad decision in my opinion

And now it's some crazy drum things... very well diversed, and you made it fit the track entirely (which is the art of not going too much in the drum work itself). They sound a bit crazeh for my taste, but they make it good fo'sho

I like your new part with choir and deep burning pad... nothing to comment here, nothing wrong with anything. The drum only parts you have once in a while are quite long and could need something besides the drums in it. Sound effects you know? :D

Nice progression and build-up, overall a great hybrid of far-apart genres. More of the sub bass plz

SineRider responds:

Shut the fuck up >8(

roffle

HouseMasta's "remix" sounds about the same... except it being more dynamic and faster... so, I guess that you could read the review I left him (which is about 4-5 reviews before this one)

So now I should apparently rewrite that review entirely and credit you for about everything >:[

EchozAurora responds:

Probably. I did like the way that he mixed it though.. it's like he fed the song a pound of sugar or something.

So mister need-collab man

You really badly want to collaborate with someone do ya. And you're a Reason guy. PM me if you wanna collab with me :)

This song is great, very nice use of pads. Love the strings pad. They give a kind of breathing feeling. If this is one pad then I NEED THAT PATCH and if it's a lot of pads you did a very good job joining them.

The whale sound is very well placed, but you could've made the size of the reverb a lot larger, since it sounds WAY too much like it's locked in a room in opposition to the rest of the song, which is space-placed.

Fifen tenty zippy zappy

Excellent title too :D

Review

The pad you used in the start with a droppling square sound sounds very dominant and much more electronic than the rest of the pads. this could use some simple bassnotes too. Good pads used in this, nothing super-special but you made them fit together. The reverb on pretty much everything kills a little, but it's ok

I like this track, and the seeing the universe born image was about what I got when I listened to this track. Good job.

SolusLunes responds:

Eh, I didn't use TOO much reverb.

Any suggestions on the type of bass? I'd appreciate any and all kinds.

seems like it's on crack

what the hell is that mass screaming. "Hælvfas".

the fx and samples is more interesting than the actual song really. Very strange string-like synth.

Sub bass with a 1-bar repetation. square synth. OK, not a lot of happening in this is it? very minimalistic.

Hælvfas.

(you need to check my audio page now- I'm a ton better :D)

rofl dark trance

Well if this is dark trance-anthem then normal trance-anthem needs to be pretty damn light. This sounds pretty light if you're asking me.

The start sounds a bit like Reason with the cpu on crack... how the hell do you make them sound like that? Gives a kind of catastrophy feel

The drum work in this is very strange, it seems to be random placement of different drum pattern progressions... And later in the song you replaced a few notes in the song with... drum samples or something...

I need to hear the original of this... cause this is the kind of track that sounds like it's either very little remixed or very very very remixed

All the synths in this sound very trancy and electronic, you're using a lot of the synths you use in a lot of your songs...

from 1.37 to 1.39 there seems to be a serious clipping noise, but except from that the mastering is all fine.

This track sounds very experimental, kinda weirdo actually, but it's really cool! so all tens whatever
